Lin Feng, a factory team leader, has eaten at a small restaurant every day for years. Though he is a regular customer, the owner publicly berates him over just two slices of pickled radish. Deeply hurt, Lin Feng never sets foot in the restaurant again. The incident quickly spreads among his fellow factory workers, who are all displeased with the owner's attitude and stop patronizing the place. As customers gradually disappear, the little restaurant is left deserted.
