Special forces soldier Ling Feng accidentally travels to the snow mountains of the seventies. Facing an attack by a snow mountain wolf pack, Ling Feng uses his special forces skills to eliminate the pack. An otherworldly sage witnesses Ling Feng's skills and perceives that Ling Feng is a variable, passing down a Qiankun bag and a set of breathing techniques to him. After descending the mountain, Ling Feng meets mountain guardian Chen Shan, an anti-Japanese veteran who instantly sees through Ling Feng's military-style method of killing wolves, knowing it is far beyond what an ordinary educated youth could possess. Sincere in his heart and respectful of the veteran's backbone, Ling Feng earns Chen Shan's recognition and is exceptionally accepted as his only disciple. Becoming the new generation of mountain guardian, Ling Feng balances various forces.
