Zhao Tiejun, a veteran plumber and electrician, handed over 720,000 yuan in wages over five years, yet couldn't even afford a four-yuan bottle of iced red tea. Humiliated by his wife, he decides to divorce her. He is then implicated in an accident involving substandard water pipes and framed and blacklisted by his wife's lover, Han Zhen. Starting over with repair work on the streets, he relies on his fifteen-year habit of documenting construction work with evidence, joining forces with property owners and witnesses to expose a kickback scandal and clear his name. In the end, he cuts all ties with his ex-wife, establishes Tiejun Plumbing and Electrical, and takes control of his own life again.
