Food delivery worker Gu Chen accidentally travels through a barren and chaotic era, becoming the son of a disgraced official whose family property was confiscated, and is exiled to the frontier. Also escorted to the frontier are implicated daughters of officials. He rises up in despair! Cleverly using poisonous herbs and kites to draw lightning to scare away government soldiers, he leads the crowd to outsmart a mountain stronghold and become king of the mountain. Relying on modern knowledge to grow potatoes, build firearms, subdue bandits and refugees, and form a women's army, he fights against the imperial court's encirclement and suppression. While reclaiming wasteland, hoarding grain, and recuperating, he raises an army to fight the foolish ruler, exposes imperial court injustices, and all the way from a distressed disgraced official, counterattacks to contend for hegemony over the world!
