Lin Feng, a modern overworked office worker, dies suddenly from working overtime and travels to the Great Jin Dynasty, a world of powerful martial arts, where he becomes Lin Feng, a hunter in a mountain village. Facing a home stripped bare, the threat of Zhao Tianhao, the young deputy leader of the Fish Gang, who covets his sister-in-law, and the crushing burden of autumn taxes and debt, Lin Feng awakens a proficiency system that allows him to improve his skills through repeated practice. With the system's enhancements, he hunts in the mountains, progressing from wild boars to giant bears, and gradually overcomes his struggle for survival while mastering the Spearmanship of the Raging Sea.
