The young girl A Dan wakes up from a deep sleep lasting three hundred years, only to realize that the five eggs she once cradled and warmed against her chest have now become the mighty beast ancestors guarding the five directions. Carrying five old, chipped bowls on her back, she embarks on a journey to find her family. Xuanwu of the Northern Wilderness, Zhuque of the South, Qinglong of the East China Sea, and Baihu of Qingqiu successively recognize her, while the last egg remains trapped in the Moon Palace. It turns out that the four beast ancestors sacrificed themselves for three hundred years to set up a formation protecting A Dan and resisting the dark nest-devourers. A Dan storms into the Moon Palace and names the little one who is late to hatch, A Man. Using the warmth of egg-hatching to dissolve disasters, the five little ones finally gather once again in the small courtyard of Mount Wanling, welcoming mealtime once more.
