Zhao Nuan, a modern woman, transmigrates to an imaginary ancient dynasty. After a famine, fate brings her and her daughter into the Marquis's household, where she becomes the wet nurse of the eldest young lady, Zhou Ning'an, and earns the family's deep trust. When the household is framed and confiscated, the dying Marchioness entrusts her young son, Zhou Ningyu, to Zhao Nuan and asks her to flee the capital with him to escape disaster. After enduring countless dangers and evading pursuing soldiers, Zhao Nuan joins an escort team arranged by Zhou Qingci, a married-out daughter of the Marquis's household. They head north to Suizhou, the place of exile, and eventually settle at Zhao Family Mountain. There, she protects the family and waits for the others to arrive. When the Zhou family members finally come into exile, they reunite and begin a new life together.
