Shen Shi, the daughter of a wealthy merchant family, marries into the Ru'an Marquis's household with a magnificent procession of wedding gifts stretching for miles. But on her wedding day, her new husband's family deliberately keeps the gates shut, leaving her outside to humiliate her. Having been reborn, she has already seen through the marquis household's scheme to seize the Shen family's fortune and refuses to suffer the same disgrace as in her previous life. Just then, the heir of Prince An happens to pass by and boldly snatches her, her bridal sedan chair, and all 1,000 wedding gift carts, taking them straight to the prince's residence. The marquis household's dreams are shattered, while Shen Shi seizes the opportunity to change her destiny, armed with her enormous dowry as she begins a new chapter.
