In his past life, zoo breeder Ning Guzi wakes up to find himself transmigrated as an odd-job disciple in the Beast Taming Sect who cannot perceive spiritual energy. At the summoning grand ceremony, fellow disciples summon a tier-five howling moon wolf, while Ning Guzi only summons four useless pets: a bald little yellow bird, a loach, a white cat, and an earth dog, becoming the laughingstock of senior sister Lin Man and elder Wang Gensheng. Relying on his knack for grooming and healing through white light, Ning Guzi heals the armored violent bear, armored rhinoceros, and blood-eyed fierce lion, getting exceptionally accepted into the Beast Pavilion by an inner sect elder. He overcomes the sabotage of Lin Man and Wang Gensheng all the way, and ventures into secret realms side by side with Shen Guizhou. Eventually, the four pets reveal their true forms as the four great divine beasts. Winning the joint grand competition to defeat the Xuan family, Ning Guzi becomes the cultivation world's number one gold medal breeder.
