Three hundred years in the future, humanity is forcibly connected to the Game of Gods and Demons, where players must conquer dungeons and obtain talent cards. Failure means death. High school students Wang Ge, Pei Youyao, and Bai Rou are pulled prematurely into the Zero Trial by an old machine. Wang Ge is forced to choose the weakest class, Mage, but uses his intelligence to overcome the dark magic of The Puppet Theater, awakening multiple SSS-rank Mage talents and surviving the game. The three then face the official Game of Gods and Demons. Wang Ge enters a dungeon set in a fallen magical empire to hone his spells, while Meng Ting secretly looks out for him. The Forbidden Card Bureau, Club Zero, a crisis involving modified humans, and the World Championship follow one after another. As Wang Ge and his teammates gather resources and grow stronger, they confront rivalries and conspiracies on their journey to becoming the strongest.
