University student Lin Ye returns to his hometown, Linxi Village. Over three years, he has worked tirelessly to cultivate soil-stabilizing vegetation on the back mountain to prevent flash floods, but his efforts are met with fierce opposition from his uncle, Lin Laogen, and his cousin, Lin Zhou. The two want to destroy the protective netting and let their cattle graze on the mountain. When the predicted flash flood arrives, the village suffers serious damage, and Lin Zhou faces one misfortune after another, including a cattle epidemic and an online romance scam. Despite their past conflicts, Lin Ye puts aside his resentment and comes to his cousin's aid, finally helping Lin Zhou realize his mistakes. The two cousins join hands to establish a cooperative with the villagers, improve water conservancy, cultivate forests and fruit orchards, and develop ecological livestock farming. Together, they lead Linxi Village out of hardship and onto the path of rural revitalization.
