As a cold wave approaches, Chen Yuan, a successful businessman, returns to his hometown and invests two million to renovate heating for the entire village for free. However, village resident Liu Guangcai demands fifty thousand yuan because the pipeline passes by his doorstep, repeatedly refusing connection and forcing the project to reroute. When the whole village is warm, only the Liu family is freezing. To save face in front of his prospective in-laws, he repeatedly searches for shortcuts to warmth, which not only causes financial damage but also plunges his family relationships into crisis. Until reality teaches him a lesson, he finally understands that kindness is not a bargaining chip for extortion, and choices must bear consequences. In the end, he sets aside his pride, bears the expenses, issues a public apology, and regains the trust of his family.
