Unemployed loser Lin Xiang hits rock bottom in life: laid off, unable to afford rent, with only eighty-seven yuan left in his balance. Buying items at the supermarket to meet a raffle requirement, the first-prize he casually scratches off turns out to be a "Reality and Game" VR gaming helmet. Entering the game with a give-it-a-try mindset, he chooses the Taoist class that nobody thinks much of, yet unexpectedly rescues the Nine-Tailed Fox King and contracts the entire server's very first growth-type summoned beast. While others need to reach level 10 to get their first ordinary summoned beast, he has a nine-tailed fox right at the start; while others need a party to clear dungeons, he solos them with his pets; while others scramble for the silver set items that everyone fights over, he puts together a full set in three days and unlocks the hidden Beast Master class and a third pet slot.
