With demolition imminent, Shen Chonglou holds millions in compensation funds. Disregarding the opposition of his family and neighbors, he refuses to follow the real estate speculation trend and insists on contracting barren mountains to cultivate the precious traditional Chinese medicine Paris polyphylla (Chonglou). On his entrepreneurial journey, he successively encounters heavy difficulties such as crop diseases, capital shortages, and mockery from others, which he resolves with professional knowledge and tenacious willpower. Treating others with virtue, he accepts competitors who once mocked him, takes the lead in establishing a cooperative, opens a technical school, and leads the entire village in developing the Chonglou industrial chain. The former barren slopes transform into an industrial base, villagers live and work in peace and contentment, and Shen Chonglou also uses practical actions to prove that down-to-earth cultivation far surpasses speculative opportunism.
