In a mountain village in the south during the 1990s, Chen Tianyang was previously addicted to gambling, squandered his family fortune, and was spurned by everyone. Reborn back to 1990, he apologizes to his wife Su Wantang, hunts wild boars to pay off debts, digs for Gastrodia elata, buys draft oxen, and builds a tile-roofed house. Resisting his second uncle's scheming and framing, his wife assists in finding the true culprit, leading to a confrontation at the ancestral hall. He signs a contract with a medicinal herb company, leads the villagers to prosperity, and within three years transforms from a prodigal vagrant into the village leader, finally winning his wife's trust.
