In his previous life, Su Yang trusted Liu Chunrou and her family, draining his family's savings to scrape together her bride price, only to lose both his money and his love. His mother was driven to severe illness by their humiliation and eventually died. Reborn in the 1980s, Su Yang immediately calls off the engagement and awakens a max-level skill system. With abilities such as max-level throwing, he ventures deep into the mountains to hunt game and gather medicinal herbs, collecting everything from pheasants and wild boars to mountain ginseng and century-old purple lingzhi mushrooms. When Liu Chunrou's family keeps harassing him and Wang Meng and his father from the supply and marketing cooperative make things difficult, Su Yang counters every move and humiliates his enemies. Meanwhile, he protects his frail mother and his kind neighbor, Lin He, secures a business partnership with a wealthy businessman from the city, and ultimately makes a name for himself in the wilderness of the 1980s.
