Chu Shaoye bears a blood-feud of tragic proportions. When tested for spiritual master aptitude at age twelve, he possessed talent far exceeding ordinary people, yet summoned only a flawless fox with a talent cap of three stages. The world asserted he could never become a high-level spiritual master, and the flawless fox was fit only as a pet. But Chu Shaoye does not believe there are inherently useless spiritual pets in the world. He binds a fated life-contract with the flawless fox, awakens the nurturing chart, resolves to defy the heavens and alter his destiny, enters the Chixiao Sect alone, starting from the very bottom as a menial worker, and desperately searches for the possibility of making his spiritual pet mutate and evolve.
