In the 1970s, young Zhao Ziqi seemed unworthy of love because of his family's background. Yet, through ordinary days, he brought a glimmer of light into the lives of five women: a bowl of life-saving hot noodles at a hospital in 1971, a companion running alongside someone on a school field in 1975, a letter addressed to the wrong name in 1977, a shoeshine girl treated with kindness outside a hotel in the 1990s, and a long conversation about the Book of Changes at a bookstall. Decades later, these five women from Beijing, Guangdong, Wuhan, Shenzhen, and Chengdu unexpectedly arrive in the same city on the same day, all searching for the same man.
