In 1985, the Zhao family in Liushugou Village begins a new life after dividing the household. The third branch of the family moves into an old courtyard on the western side of the village, starting over in a dilapidated earthen house. Faced with the everyday challenges of life, Liang Xingzhi firmly believes that a family's livelihood must be built up little by little through their own hard work. The old courtyard, neglected garden, worn-out belongings, and exchanges among neighbors bear witness to the family's perseverance and growth through ordinary years. As time passes, they repair their home through diligence, preserve their family bonds with warmth, and seek stability and hope amid the small changes of rural life.
