Zhou Yan has worked at the Honghe Ice Factory for nine years, earning outstanding employee awards year after year. Yet when the factory allocated housing, someone with connections took his place. The factory director not only refused to uphold fairness but publicly humiliated Zhou Yan and drove him and his wife into an abandoned ice cellar. Everyone expected him to become a laughingstock. Instead, Zhou Yan signed a contract to operate the cellar, restored the broken refrigeration equipment, saved fresh fish, preserved frozen meat, and transformed the unwanted ice cellar into the county's busiest cold-storage distribution hub. They took his home away, but he turned an abandoned ice cellar into a road to fortune.
