A newborn is diagnosed with epidermolysis bullosa, a congenital condition that makes the skin so fragile that even slight friction can cause it to break. The child will never be able to experience an ordinary embrace. Unable to bear the burden, the mother resolutely leaves, and the father, Huang Zhengtao, takes his daughter to a secluded seaside town far away. For fifteen years, he stays by her side day and night, working multiple jobs to protect her as she grows up, teach her to read, and shield her from prejudice and life's storms.
