During years of severe drought, elderly farmer Lu Shoutian feeds the last half-ladle of water in his household to a dying white dragon. This tough-talking yet soft-hearted female dragon ends up digging through an abandoned well overnight, becoming the one who cares for the family the most. The well water saves the villagers, but it also attracts grain merchants who hoard water and seize wells, borrowing grain to grab farmland. The couple protects the dragon and their neighbors, the white dragon searches for springs while injured, and everyone joins forces to build a canal. But just as the waterway is cleared, accumulated water from the mountains rushes toward the village. The little white dragon plunges into the dangerous torrent—can that old water ladle that saved her still wait for her to come home?
