Gu Han, an honest chef from Baishi Village, wants to raise his banquet prices because of rising ingredient costs, but the villagers misunderstand him, driving him to angrily hang up his wok. Taking advantage of the situation, the swindler Liu San deceives the villagers with pre-made dishes. When the scam is exposed, Gu Han puts aside their past grievances and steps in to save the day. He is invited to become the executive chef of Splendid Jiangnan, where he reforms the kitchen and revives long-lost famous dishes. Meanwhile, he leads Baishi Village in establishing an agricultural cooperative and applies to have the village's traditional culinary techniques recognized as provincial-level intangible cultural heritage. Ultimately, he helps the entire village escape poverty and achieve prosperity while remaining true to his original belief: 'Be a good person before becoming a good cook.'
