On New Year's Eve, Qin Hai, a middle-aged man whom everyone considered a good-for-nothing, is thrown out of his home by his cruel ex-wife and her family. Armed with only half a copy of his grandfather's Ancient Dragon-Seeking and Sea-Calming Art, Qin Hai returns to his dilapidated old fishing village. Starting with the lease of a barren pond with stagnant water, he finds ways to reduce toxins and withstand typhoons while outsmarting the village bully. He later builds deep-sea fish cages and gradually establishes a marine fishing empire that astonishes the world, ultimately forcing everyone who once looked down on him to kneel and beg for his forgiveness.
