Eight Years of Affection at the Night Market, Settle All Accounts in One Night
Song Shoucheng, the kindhearted owner of a night market, has run it for eight years. After falling ill and being hospitalized, he entrusts the market to his son, Xiao Song. Once in charge, Xiao Song becomes increasingly greedy, first charging parking fees, then forcing stalls to close at 11 p.m. and imposing monthly overtime fees. He deliberately cuts the power and locks the electrical room under the pretext of safety concerns, extorting an 8,000-yuan safety deposit from each of the 50 stall owners. Old He, a barbecue stall owner, takes the lead in paying but insists on receiving official receipts and invoices, secretly preserving recordings, receipts, and other evidence. He has already been discreetly scouting Xingyue Food Plaza in the neighboring town and contacting all 50 stall owners to prepare in secret for three days. Late Friday night, they move everything out of the night market in a single night, leaving behind only the signboard handwritten by Boss Song.
