During the Republican era, the Kyūgiku sect plots to destroy the Yellow River's dragon vein, threatening the nation and its people. Master Zhang of Lüshan steps forward and sacrifices himself to establish a powerful geomantic formation, securing two years of peace. Before descending the mountain, his disciple Li Beichuan sets out for the Jun family to fulfill an arranged marriage. Along the way, he joins forces with fellow practitioners of the mystical arts to overcome one crisis after another and thwart the schemes of enemy yin-yang masters, including Oshima Taro and Kawashima Yoshiko. At last, he confronts Abe no Seimei, the leader of the Kyūgiku sect. Using the Celestial Master's Seal to summon the power of thunder, Li Beichuan defeats the manifestation of Amaterasu and successfully protects the Yellow River's dragon vein. When the turmoil subsides, Li Beichuan and Jun Yuanqing marry and find their happy ending.
