A 66-year-old woman, whose three biological sons take turns shirking their responsibility to care for her, rescues an amnesiac mute boy on a stormy night. Everyone sees the child as a burden, but she would rather sell her dowry than give up on treating him; unexpectedly, the boy turns out to be the only heir of a provincial capital food group who has been missing for two years. Because of this, the old woman's long-dormant pickle-making craft also changes her fate once again.
