The startling Hongluan dance crosses a thousand years, entangling two lives of romantic tribulations. The ancient courtesan Li Shu was hurt by a heartless man, and she is reborn in modern times as a sickly young girl. To raise a high surgical fee, she is forced to turn into a servant of the He family, strategizing to capture the He family's successor He Shenxing. He Shenxing fears romance and devotes himself entirely to asceticism. Facing Li Shu's advancing by retreating and her bitter flesh scheme layered in multiple offensives, he gradually collapses. Closing his eyes and turning prayer beads is Zen, but opening his eyes to see her becomes his tribulation. Li Shu enters the game with her body, thinking she is sober enough, but instead, she is shaken by He Shenxing's forbearance and true heart.
