Bai Jiu unexpectedly finds herself inside a novel, transformed into a little stray dog in a cultivation-world story where everyone dotes on the heroine. She is taken in as a disciple by Xiao Yun, the master of Wangzuo Peak, whose peak is destined to be destroyed. She survives by sarcastically commenting on the plot, unaware that everyone in her sect can already hear her thoughts and regards her as the key to changing their fate. The original heroine, Chu Yuwan, is a genius with a Heavenly Spirit Root who repeatedly plots to harm Bai Jiu, only to be firmly stopped by Xiao Yun and her senior brothers and sisters. During an expedition down the mountain, Bai Jiu becomes embroiled in a case involving missing mortals and encounters a mysterious, powerful enemy. As her bonds with her sect grow stronger, she joins forces with the great demons of her sect to openly oppose Chu Yuwan, vowing to rewrite Wangzuo Peak's doomed fate and unleash a storm that turns right and wrong upside down in the cultivation world.
