Jiang Heng, the heir to the wealthiest family in the country who has kept his identity hidden, plans to give his fiancée, Lin Wantang, a grand wedding and the most prestigious status on their wedding day. Unexpectedly, when the wedding convoy arrives outside the Lin family home, there are no firecrackers and no welcoming procession. Lin Wantang is still in her room, helping her childhood sweetheart, Gu Bei, put on his tie. Following the wedding customs, Jiang Heng goes upstairs to fetch his bride, but Gu Bei's dissatisfaction with his tie repeatedly delays the auspicious wedding time. Then Lin Wantang's parents and younger brother block the doorway, demanding that Jiang Heng sign a debt guarantee agreement. Confident that he will give in, Lin Wantang waits in her room. But Jiang Heng simply turns around and leaves with his entourage, redirects the wedding convoy, and announces that he will marry someone else.
