On the wedding day of Chen Zhigang and Lin He, as the wedding car arrives at the Chen family's entrance, Lin He, instigated by her cousin Zhao Tingting, temporarily demands a 66,000-yuan get-off gift before she is willing to get out of the car. With guests filling the hall, the Chen family falls into embarrassment, and Chen Shoutian almost kneels in public to plead. Unable to bear his elders being humiliated, Chen Zhigang resolutely calls off the marriage and sends the wedding car back the way it came. After returning home, under the strict awakening of her mother Su Xiuqin, Lin He recognizes her mistake. Not shielding faults, Su Xiuqin brings Lin He to visit the Chen family to sincerely apologize. Considering their three-year relationship, Chen Zhigang chooses to proceed with the marriage, and the two decide to skip the banquet and register their marriage first to live their lives.
