Shen Lingzhi activates the Young and Reckless System. The more boldly she rebels against restrictions, the younger and more beautiful her appearance becomes. She publicly rejects her younger sister's marriage arranged to bring good fortune to a dying person, and stands up against her father, mother-in-law, and hypocritical husband. She tears apart the oppressive rules of clan tradition and breaks free from the shackles of marriage. In the end, she establishes a school for girls, changing the destinies of countless women. She proves that women can study, work, and earn the same respect as men.
