Shen Jingzhi, the legitimate son of the General's Mansion, suffers greatly from poor health and a strange illness called the "copycat." By imperial decree, he was married into the Princess's Mansion as a consort, where he met the princess's glass-hearted childhood friend, Xia Zhunzhi. To get rid of Shen Jingzhi, Xia Zhunzhi used self-harm to lure him into imitating, nearly costing him his life. The princess favored Xia Zhunzhi and ignored Shen Jingzhi's safety. Taking advantage of the princess being away, Xia Zhunzhi tricked Shen Jingzhi into climbing the city wall, intending to use his illness to make him fall off. At the critical moment, Shen Jingzhi's parents arrived with one hundred thousand elite cavalry, and the emperor descended to investigate the case, revealing the truth. Xia Zhunzhi was subjected to death by a thousand cuts and his entire clan was executed, while the princess was deposed and placed under house arrest. Shen Jingzhi received an imperial decree to divorce his wife, was enfeoffed as the Marquis of Anle, and finally attained security.
