Su Tao, a modern-day cook, transmigrates into a novel about a real and fake heiress as a cannon-fodder cook. She unexpectedly discovers that the entire Shen family can hear her inner thoughts. While grumbling to save her own life, she spills spoilers left and right, helping the Shen family expose the fake heiress Shen Mingzhu's string of schemes, find their real heiress Gu Qingyuan, and bring down the mastermind, Madam Zhou. Shen Yichen, the eldest son of the Shen family, goes from being curious about Su Tao to falling for her. The whole family tries every trick in the book to persuade her to stay. In the end, Su Tao rises from a disposable minor character to become the chief consultant of the Imperial Cuisine House, gaining both a successful career and love.
