Before his mother's body has even been laid to rest, his uncle secretly takes the silver dollars from the cellar and incites his grandmother to force a family separation. His father is bedridden with a broken leg and a dangerously high fever, his younger siblings survive on spoiled leftovers, and the male lead chews elm bark to stay alive. Just when he has nowhere left to turn, he awakens the Divine Eye of Treasure Appraisal! His dilapidated home is full of treasures: a rusty copper lock is a rare Qing dynasty gilt-bronze piece, a pickle jar is an ancient Song dynasty ceramic, and an entire jade vein lies buried behind the mountain. With his extraordinary vision, he discovers hidden treasures, develops the mountain, builds factories, and leads the whole village to wealth. He then humiliates every relative who once trampled on his dignity, rising from a despised bringer of bad luck to a legend who transforms the destiny of an entire region.
