Wang Xinyu, an outer disciple of the Qinglan Sect, notices that her treasured sword, the Han Shu Sword, has been trembling repeatedly. She realizes that there is more to her master's death three years ago, supposedly caused by a cultivation deviation. While investigating the forbidden grounds behind the mountain late one night, she discovers that Shen Du, the senior brother of the inner sect, has secretly established a hidden chamber where he practices forbidden techniques and steals the spiritual energy of outer disciples. After seeking help from the sect leader to no avail, Wang Xinyu brings the Sword Resonance Record, documenting three years of unusual disturbances, to the entire sect assembly and exposes Shen Du's crimes, clears her master's name, and chooses to remain among the outer disciples to protect her fellow sect members.
