The impoverished old valley, blanketed in apricot blossoms, welcomes a village-based secretary. Rejecting restless shortcuts, he devotes himself to raising free-range native chickens beneath the forest canopy. He grows from an outsider official beset by doubts into a trusted village secretary known for raising chickens. Along the way, he faces countless challenges and skepticism, but ultimately succeeds. By building an industry around chickens and breathing life into the village through that industry, he leads Xinghua Valley along a path to rural revitalization that combines farming and livestock breeding with integrated agriculture and tourism.
