Qiao Zhiwei awakens to memories of her past life, foreseeing that a massive mountain torrent is coming. She sells her riverbank tile house, calls off her arranged marriage, moves with her family into an abandoned watchtower halfway up the mountain, and hoards a large amount of survival supplies. After the flash flood breaks out, facing wave after wave of plundering by disaster-stricken villagers, river pirates, and bandits, Qiao Zhiwei cleverly uses various ruses to fend off enemies, joining forces with Zhou Yanshan and others to hold the watchtower and bitterly survive the flood and cold wave.
