While gathering herbs, a young girl named Zhou Xiaoman rescues an injured white deer that can understand human speech. In gratitude, the deer gives her a magical medicine jar capable of multiplying medicinal seedlings, helping her ease her grandmother's struggle to afford treatment. However, the treasure attracts the greed of her uncle and a medicine merchant named Qian Guangcai, who covet it and eventually seize and damage the jar. Rather than relying entirely on the magical treasure, Xiaoman follows the white deer and discovers an abandoned ancient medicinal herb valley. Together with her fellow villagers, she overcomes numerous difficulties, restores the irrigation channels, and brings the farmland back to life.
