Yao Niang, a pretty widow who makes a living by selling tofu, is fretting as the county yamen urges her to remarry, when suddenly she bumps into three peach blossoms of impressive backgrounds: Zhou Quan, a considerate traveling merchant; Magistrate Jiang, a pro-people county magistrate hidden in the market; and Cui Yu, a down-and-out young general with handsome martial arts skills, each sincerely seeking to marry her. But Yao Niang sees things clearly and thinks things through, single-mindedly guarding her family business, raising her child, and serving her parent, refusing to climb high branches or disturb others, successively declining their affections. Who would have expected Magistrate Jiang to revise new policies to solve her tax puzzle, and Cui Yu to take the initiative to transfer locally, stepping firmly toward her.
