To protect female worker Lin Xiaolan, machinery factory director Cheng Haichao publicly rebuked Hong Kong businessman Zhou Zhiyuan as an "old pervert," unaware that the man was actually her biological father. To avoid trouble, Cheng Haichao emptied his family savings to take her fleeing back to the countryside, protecting her with his life all the way. Until the father came looking for her, he suddenly realized he had actually forced a wealthy heiress into "re-education in the countryside." Just when he felt he wasn't good enough for her, Xiaolan gave up her family fortune and resolutely chose to save the bankrupt factory together with him. Two people of vastly different classes shattered prejudices by entrusting their lives to each other amid the roaring machine tools, finally becoming a couple.
