Qiu Ye grew up in Shenren Tun in Northeast China before being brought back to the capital's Shen family. She turns out to be their real daughter, who disappeared twenty years ago. The fake heiress, Shen Wanxing, repeatedly tries to frame her, only to be outmatched by Qiu Ye's extraordinary fighting skills. Using her family's ancestral medical techniques, Qiu Ye cures the blindness of her arranged-marriage partner, Gu Jingchen, and joins forces with him to bring down his second uncle, who covets the family fortune. The truth is finally exposed: her biological father, Shen Jianguo, abandoned her years ago for the sake of his illegitimate daughter. Shen Jianguo is imprisoned, while Shen Wanxing is sent away to feed geese. Qiu Ye and Gu Jingchen marry in a grand wedding, backed by the powerful hidden figures of Shenren Tun, and she becomes the matriarch of the Gu family.
