Deep in the snowy mountains, an injured female weasel seeks Zhou Ling out for a bestowal. She does not ask to cultivate into an immortal or a deity, but only asks to have her cub sealed as an ordinary beast to escape a mysterious entity in the mountains that specifically hunts spiritual creatures. After entrusting her children safely, the female weasel draws away the danger alone, and Zhou Ling takes several little weasels home to care for them. Grandmother and Third Master Zhou recognize the extraordinary origins of the white-furred cub Xuetuan, and set down three rules for protection. Late at night, a call resembling the female weasel's echoes outside the door, wanting to take Xuetuan away alone. Everyone holds fast to the agreement not to open the room's door; although Xuetuan can tell the voice is fake, deep down it still yearns for its mother's voice.
