In 1994, driver Chen Ye saved money and entrusted someone to build him a house. When he returned to his hometown, his cousin had seized the property and motorcycle, and his fiancée had abandoned him to marry someone else. Disheartened, he returned to his old home, where his ancestral Hundred-Beast Bell unexpectedly opened a misty water passage to foreign lands. Stranded in an unfamiliar world, Chen Ye gains the bell's blessing, allowing him to awaken animals' abilities and understand their speech. He forms a mountain-foraging team to collect wild mountain goods. Transporting these treasures back to China, he opens up sales channels with the help of a businesswoman and earns money to care for his family. His wicked uncle and cousin ultimately suffer the consequences of their own misdeeds, while his remorseful former fiancée begs to reconcile and is rejected. Just as the mountain-foraging adventure comes to an end, Chen Ye discovers a distress signal from the other half of the Hundred-Beast Bell in the Arctic Ocean, and an entirely new sea gate officially opens.
