Lin You, a 28-year-old single female white-collar worker, takes out a loan to buy an old second-hand apartment in the city center, wanting to start a healing single life, but is harassed by three terrible neighbors. Zhao Meifeng upstairs demolishes the load-bearing wall to make a group rental property, creating noise year-round; Lao Zhou on the first floor occupies the fire escape to pile up junk, causing a cockroach infestation; Sun Guodong opposite secretly installs cameras and peeps and eavesdrops through the wall. With the property management perfunctory and departments passing the buck, Lin You refuses to compromise, gradually gathering evidence and reporting them, turning Lao Zhou to her side, and digging deep into criminal evidence. Despite repeatedly facing intimidation, drugging, and house-breaking, she remains calm in her layout. In the end, Sun Guodong is sentenced to seven years, Zhao Meifeng moves away, and Lao Zhou turns over a new leaf. Lin You buys the opposite apartment, reclaiming her peaceful home.
