In the early morning, a large flock of crows covers the roof of Chen Wang's house. A rusty key drops from an injured crow, unearthing the abandoned and perilous past of Old Stone Gully. Chen Wang investigates the clues, discovering that Liu San and Uncle Zhou deliberately conceal the past, and also finding traces of the missing craftsman Sun Jianguo. Back when Old Stone Gully collapsed, Sun Jianguo escaped death by using a drainage ditch, then returned to retrieve materials and leave behind a keepsake. Mute Uncle persistently searches for the watch left by Sun Jianguo for his father. Just as the mountain body destabilizes once more, everyone is busy evacuating the villagers. Mute Uncle encounters danger and is trapped in the gully; Chen Wang ventures a risk to rescue him. Ultimately, Old Stone Gully is sealed off, the age-old mysteries are largely unraveled, and the village returns to peace.
