Modern corporate slave Gao Yang wakes up to find himself transformed into Gao Zijin, the Duke of Taiyuan and second son of Gao Huan of Eastern Wei. He originally wanted to just lie flat and slack off, but was forced by Heir Gao Cheng to lie on ice to catch carp and face public humiliation. Enduring this grievance, and after testing his nerve at the execution ground, he resolved to fight for the throne. Volunteering to guard the rear during the western expedition with the army, he heavily defeated Zhao Gui using ambush forces, and was enfeoffed as an official of the Kaifu Bureau. He recruited Pei Rangzhi and Yang Yin, used Zu Ting to forge letters to bring down Guo Xiu, gathered Wang Huai, Qilian Meng, and Hulü Xian, built two thousand private troops, subdued Gao Aocao, and step by step firmly established his foothold in Jinyang.
