On the day of registering their marriage, fiancé Huo Tingshen coerces Qin Wan into registering his illegitimate daughter on her household registry, otherwise threatening to cancel the wedding. Seeing through the true colors of his family, Qin Wan decisively breaks up and impulsively marries Huo's archenemy Xie Yan. At the Huo family banquet, Qin Wan publicly reveals the fact that she is married, completely severing ties. Afterward, she teams up with Xie Yan to gather evidence, sending Huo's mother and Bailu—who had once persecuted her mother—to prison, and ultimately reaping a happy life with Xie Yan.
