After staying up all night reading a post-apocalyptic novel, Lin Chen finishes complaining about how unfairly a cannon-fodder character died. But the moment he opens his eyes, he finds himself transported into the very book he was reading. Bound to a Comeback System, he completes missions to earn points, which he can exchange for supplies and supernatural abilities. Leading his team from the slums of the Outer City all the way into the heart of the Inner City's power structure, he believes he is the chosen one and that finding a way out will let him return to his original world. However, he eventually discovers that he is nothing more than someone else's experimental subject, and even the system was a program written by someone else in advance.
