Song Ci, who barely made it into the experimental class, and Tang Shi, who ranked first in the entire department, were paired together by the whole school because their names combined formed Tang poetry and Song lyrics, and they were assigned to the same study group. During military training, Tang Shi was tough on the outside but soft on the heart, secretly helping her change into training clothes, sending her brown sugar water, publicly confronting rumor-mongers by name, and spending the entire night investigating a fake report letter. Academically, he accompanied her in correcting homework and marking key points, helping her win a scholarship. With friends Yan Shanshan and Ye Maoran assisting all along, the four of them ate hot pot and visited an amusement park, and their feelings grew stronger. Under the New Year fireworks, Tang Shi confessed his love. After a clandestine relationship, they gradually made it public and both met each other's parents. In their sophomore year, Tang Shi got an exchange student spot at a prestigious university and wanted to give it up, but Song Ci firmly pushed him to pursue his future.
